Platz, der ihr zusteht

Carine Kleibers "Jeannie Ebner. Eine Einführung" will laut Angaben des Verlags "beweisen, dass Jeannie Ebner (noch) nicht den Platz innerhalb der zeitgenössischen österreichischen Literatur einnimmt, der ihr gebührt: es wird nämlich nicht viele Autor(inn)en in der Gegenwartsliteratur geben, denen mehr Ausdruckskraft und Einfühlungsgabe zuzusprechen ist".
Apropos "Platz, der ihr zusteht": Ebner schreibt an mehreren Stellen vom Wunsch, endlich ein eigenes Arbeitszimmer zu haben. Das erinnert mich stark an Virginia Woolfs "A room of one's own": "But, you may say, we asked you to speak about women and fiction — what, has that got to do with a room of one’s own? I will try to explain. (...) All I could do was to offer you an opinion upon one minor point - a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction; and that, as you will see, leaves the great problem of the true nature of woman and the true nature of fiction unsolved". Und dann habe ich in "Holzfällen" (auch wenn es übertrieben sein mag, zu einem Teil stimmt das Geschilderte m.E. schon) gelesen, dass "Jeannie Billroth" eine große Verehrerin Virginia Woolfs sei. Das passt doch alles ganz gut zusammen.
